Day 7 - Blue Lagoon / Good-bye Iceland

We were all packed and ready to go....breakfast and departed for the Blue Lagoon; Iceland's famous geothermal spa. The Lagoon is located not far from the airport making it a convenient stopover for locals and air travelers.

When you enter the facility, each individual is issued a wristband that contains a RFID chip. This bracelet provides access to all of the Lagoon's facilities - your locker, restaurant, silica facial; mask bar and in-water refreshment bar. Application of the white silica mask and one drink are included with the entrance fee; all other items/services are charged using your RFID bracelet. Look at the pictures....notice the fog clouds covering the Lagoon area....now picture your teenage grandsons somewhere/out there with a charge card on their wrist. The boys were pretty good...they only purchased two extra drinks and a black silica facial.

The Lagoon is quite large....the refreshment bar is the upper right photo with the waterfall and entrance to the steam room/sauna in the above left photo.

The End
